In the course of today's status conference, Trial Panel II delivered several oral orders concerning evidence and the next phases of the proceedings. Among other things, the Panel ordered the Defence teams to submit their joint motion for the dismissal of charges in accordance with Rule 130 by 2 June 2025, or within 14 days following the Panel's last decision on the admission of evidence, whichever date is later. The response from the SPO is required to be filed by 1 July, or within 30 days subsequent to the Defence's Rule 130 motion, whichever occurs later.
Furthermore, the Victims’ Counsel is expected to be ready to present his case in July and is ordered to submit, inter alia, his list of proposed witnesses and exhibits by 28 May 2025, should the Panel find there is a case to answer.
The Panel has vacated the existing court schedule until 8 May, thereby postponing this trial until further notice.
