On 10 July 2024, Trial Panel II issued a new decision on victims' participation in the Thaçi et al. case. Two applicants were admitted to the proceedings as participating victims and will be included in the existing group of victims (Group 1 with 152 participating victims previously admitted) and shall be represented by the same Victims' Counsel. The Panel mentioned in its decision that the deadline for submitting applications for victim participation in this case had passed on 15 February 2023. However, finding there is a good cause, the Panel accepted these applications even though they were submitted after the deadline.

This brings the total number of participating victims in this case to 154. More details are available in the public redacted version of the decision here.

The testimony of Bislim Zyrapi resumed this morning with the Krasniqi Defence continuing their cross-examination from yesterday.

Following our earlier post today, please be informed that the confirmed amended indictment for the joint case has been submitted by the SPO and is now available in our Public Court Records.

On 8 July, the Pre-Trial Judge in the Januzi, Bahtijari, and Haxhi Shala case confirmed the amendments to the joint indictment and ordered the SPO to submit the latest version of this indictment by 10 July. Once submitted, this will be the operative indictment in the case. In accordance with Rule 90(3), Judge Masselot scheduled further appearances for Januzi and Bahtijari on Friday, 12 July, at 09:30. Since the new factual allegations were part of the original indictment against Haxhi Shala, his presence at the hearing is not required. The public version of the decision can be accessed here.
