At the beginning of today’s hearing, the Defence of Kadri Veseli requested an adjournment of the hearings this week due to the recent death of its member Andrew Strong. The Panel granted the request and cancel the rest of the hearings this week. The trial will resume after the winter recess on 15 January 2024.

New Prosecution witness is Dejan Jeftić, from the area of Suharekë/Suva Reka in Kosovo. According to the short summary read by the SPO in court, in July 1998, the witness was arrested by armed Albanians, some wearing black uniforms, and then taken to Budakovë/Budakovo.

The testimony of the SPO’s 38th witness Sandra Mitchell continued this morning in the Thaçi et al. trial. The SPO is currently re-examining the witness.

As announced in our Court Calendar, the third status conference in the case against Sabit Januzi and Ismet Bahtijari is scheduled to take place on Thursday, 14 December, at 11:30 More information in the scheduling order.

Today’s hearing is adjourned and the trial of Thaçi et al. will continue on Monday, 11 December, at 09:00, when the current witness Sandra Mitchell is expected to resume her testimony.

The testimony of the former OSCE official in Kosovo Sandra Mitchell continued this morning. She is still being cross-examined by the Thaçi Defence.

Another KSC weekly press briefing will take place on Thursday, 7 December, at 14:30.
