In accordance with the Panel's order from 29 May, the SPO announced today, 16 September, that it will no longer rely upon the evidence of eleven witnesses. Additionally, the SPO will present the statements of 7 witnesses in written form instead of live testimony in court. Further information can be found in the notice.

This morning’s hearing in the Thaçi et al. case will commence at 09:32 (or at 10:17 via the delayed feed online).

Another KSC weekly press briefing will take place on Thursday, 12 September, at 14:30. During this briefing, the KSC Spokespersons will provide a short update on the latest developments in the judicial proceedings before the KSC, as well as on other public activities of the Court. On 9 September 2024, the Supreme Court Panel, consisting of Judges Ekaterina Trendafilova (Presiding), Christine van den Wyngaert and Daniel Fransen, rejected Haxhi Shala's request for protection of legality concerning his detention. The Panel concluded that there was no substantial violation of the procedures on the part of the Pre-Trial Judge, who initially ordered the accused's continued detention, or by the Appeals Panel that upheld the decision.
