Following the completion of Naser Krasniqi’s testimony, the trial in the Thaçi et al. case has adjourned for today. The Panel informed that tomorrow's hearing will start at 11:30, when the testimony of a new witness is expected to commence.

On 28 January 2025, the Court of Appeals Panel denied Isni Kilaj's appeal against the Pre-Trial Judge's decision ordering his continued detention, issued orally during the hearing on 9 December 2024. The panel’s decision is available here. 

This morning, the 118^th SPO witness Naser Krasniqi continued his testimony, which commenced on 27 January. He is currently being cross-examined by the Selimi Defence.

This morning, the SPO resumed direct examination of its 118^th witness Naser Krasniqi.

Naser Krasniqi is the new Prosecution’s witness, whose testimony commenced this afternoon. A counsel has been appointed to assist the witness, ensuring he can seek guidance regarding any potential self-incrimination issues. In response to a request from the witness, the Panel, in accordance with Rule 151, assured the witness that his evidence would not be used against him in any subsequent prosecution before the KSC. When asked by the Panel, Krasniqi indicated his preference for his testimony to be conducted in an open session.

The new SPO witness is a forensic pathologist Marek Gasior, who is testifying as an expert witness. Please note that this witness has previously testified in the case of P. Shala.

The Prosecution’s 116^th witness Helmut Schreckenbauer completed his testimony this afternoon, after which the trial adjourned for today and for the week. The trial will resume on Monday, 27 January 2025, at 09:00.

Following the completion of the testimony of John Clark, the SPO called Helmut Schreckenbauer as its next witness today. According to the SPO, this witness served as a medical doctor with the German KFOR in Kosovo between June and August of 1999.
