Following the completion of the testimony of the SPO’s 105th witness W00344, the trial is adjourned for today. The proceedings will resume tomorrow, 21 November 2024, at 09:00.

The Prosecution called their 105th witness this morning. This is protected witness W00344, whose testimony is conducted via video-link. According to the SPO summary in court, this witness was abducted by KLA members in 1999 and then detained and mistreated in a local KLA detention site.

As we announced earlier today, the trial resumed at 10:30 but then adjourned again at 11:30 for a 30-minute break. After that, the hearing was held in private session and then adjourned for the day.

The trial will resume tomorrow at 09:00.

As announced by the Presiding Judge and due to the parties' requests to the panel, please be informed that the trial is on a break until 10:30 (or until 11:15 in the online stream).

Following the completion of Nezir Çoçaj ’s testimony, today’s hearing in the Thaçi et al. case is adjourned. The trial will resume tomorrow, 19 November 2024, at 09:00, with a testimony of another SPO witness.

Following the Veseli Defence's request for additional time to prepare for questioning witness Çoçaj, the trial is on a break until 13:30 (or 14:15 in the online stream), at which point the Defence's cross-examination is anticipated to begin.

Nezir Çoçaj is the new SPO witness, and his testimony began this morning. According to the SPO summary in court, this witness joined the KLA in 1998 and later served in the Pashtrik operational zone.

On 14 November 2024, President Trendafilova assigned a Constitutional Court Panel to rule on the referral, filed by Haxhi Shala on 11 November 2024. Judges Vidar Stensland, Roumen Nenkov, and Romina Incutti will decide on this referral, which follows the Supreme Court decision from 9 September this year (see here our latest post about that matter).

Following the extension of the deadline for filing the Defence’s appeal brief, which we informed about earlier, the Court of Appeals Panel, on 13 November, also granted, in part, a similar request by the SPO and the Victims’ Counsel. They are now authorized to file their response briefs by 17 January 2025 (the previous deadline was 27 December 2024). Here is the panel’s decision.
