On 10 September 2024, the Court of Appeals Panel imposed in relation to Mustafa’s convictions for the war crimes of arbitrary detention, torture and murder sentences of respectively eight, 13 and 15 years of imprisonment and an overall sentence of 15 years with credit for the time served. On 9 September 2024, the Supreme Court Panel, consisting of Judges Ekaterina Trendafilova (Presiding), Christine van den Wyngaert and Daniel Fransen, rejected Haxhi Shala's request for protection of legality concerning his detention. The Panel concluded that there was no substantial violation of the procedures on the part of the Pre-Trial Judge, who initially ordered the accused's continued detention, or by the Appeals Panel that upheld the decision.

After Pjetër Shala Defence filed (confidentially) its notice of appeal against the trial judgment, pronounced on 16 July this year, KSC President Trendafilova assigned a Court of Appeals Panel, consisting of Judges Michèle Picard, Kai Ambos, and Nina Jørgensen to decide on the appeal. On 4 September 2024, the Presiding Judge of the Court of Appeals Panel scheduled the Pre-Appeal Conference for 20 September at 10:00.

Following the Pre-Trial Judge's notification that the Januzi et al. case file would be ready for transmission to a Trial Panel on 4 September, the KSC President assigned this case to Trial Panel I. This Panel consists of Judges Roland Dekkers, Mappie Veldt-Foglia, Gilbert Bitti, and Vladimir Mikula as the reserve judge.

Following the completion of Rrustem Tetaj's testimony, the trial in the Thaçi et al. case has adjourned for the day and the week. The scheduled hearing for tomorrow, 5 September, is cancelled. The trial will resume on Monday, 16 September, at 09:00.

The testimony of the Prosecution's 84th witness Rrustem Tetaj resumed this morning and the Thaçi Defence continued their cross-examination that started yesterday.

The Pre-Trial Judge today, 3 September, notified the President that the case file in the case against Sabit Januzi, Ismet Bahtijari and Haxhi Shala will be ready for transmission to a Trial Panel tomorrow, 4 September 2024.
