SPO’s protected witness W04489 resumed the testimony this morning.

Here is the transcript of today's KSC Weekly Press Briefing.

On 17 January 2024, President Trendafilova assigned a Supreme Court Panel to decide on the latest request, filed by the Defence of Salih Mustafa, asking for an extension of time to file its request for protection of legality.

Judges Ekaterina Trendafilova (presiding), Christine van den Wyngaert and Daniel Fransen will decide on this and any other request related to this matter. Here is the assignment decision.

On 17 January, KSC President Trendafilova assigned Judge Gilbert Bitti as Single Judge to oversee the implementation by the Registrar of the Reparation order against Salih Mustafa, issued on 6 April last year. The Single Judge is assigned for the period of one year (in accordance with Article 33(2) of the Law) and he will receive reports from the Registrar on any action taken before the Crime Victim Compensation Program in Kosovo. The SPO's 41st witness W04489 resumed the testimony this morning in the Thaçi et al. trial.

Another KSC weekly press briefing will take place on Thursday, 18 January, at 14:30. Protected witness W04489 is a new Prosecution witness, whose testimony has just commenced. According to the SPO’s summary read in court, this witness is a family relative of a charged murder and enforced disappearance victim from Drenoc/Drenovac. This is the 41st SPO witness so far.
