    Appeal judgment in the Mustafa case

    On 14 December 2023, the Court of Appeals Panel dismissed eight grounds raised by Mustafa challenging the Trial Judgment, while granting in part his challenge to the Trial Panel’s imposition of a sentence of 26 years of imprisonment for the three counts on which he was convicted. The Appeals Panel reduced his overall single sentence from 26 years to 22 years of imprisonment, with credit for time served.

    KSC Weekly Press Briefing on 14 December

    Haxhi Shala’s initial appearance today: plea entering in 30 days

    At his initial appearance before Pre-Trial Judge Guillou, Haxhi Shala chose not to enter his plea today. The further appearance will be scheduled in due course.

    The next hearing in this case is the status conference on 15 December at 09:30.

    Haxhi Shala arrested and transferred to the KSC

    Following his arrest on 11 December, Haxhi Shala was transferred to the Detention Facilities of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague today, 12 December 2023. His initial appearance will take place tomorrow, 13 December, at 14:00. More details in the Press Release.

    Thaçi et al. adjourned until next year

    At the beginning of today’s hearing, the Defence of Kadri Veseli requested an adjournment of the hearings this week due to the recent death of its member Andrew Strong. The Panel granted the request and cancel the rest of the hearings this week. The trial will resume after the winter recess on 15 January 2024.
