Throughout 2024, one war crimes case reached its conclusion, a trial judgment was issued in a second war crimes case, and a case involving offences against the administration of justice was transferred to a trial panel. Following the confirmation of indictments against five accused for offences against the administration of justice, arrests were made and pre-trial proceedings initiated. The proceedings in the Thaci et al war crimes case have been progressing in an efficient manner and the first two persons convicted of offences against the administration of justice completed the service of their sentences. In October 2024, KSC President Ekaterina Trendafilova travelled to Kosovo to meet with stakeholders the Ministry of Justice to provide them with an update on public information about mandate, administration and state of proceedings of the Specialist Chambers. In November, Judge Trendafilova hosted online meetings with civil society and Kosovo media to answer any question they had in relation to the public work of the court.
