In July 2023, a Call for Nomination of Judges to a reserve list for the Roster of International Judges of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers was issued by the European External Action Service. EU Member States and Contributing States are invited to nominate qualified candidates through a supporting letter, for the position(s) listed in the Call for Nominations. The requirements for candidates are provided for in Article 27 of the Law on Specialist Chambers and Specialist Prosecutor’s Office and outlined in the Call for Nominations. Any appointment to the Roster of International Judges will only be affected in the case that the number of Judges from the Roster is insufficient. Until such time, the selected Judges will be on a reserve list. If appointed to the Roster of International Judges, the Judges will only be present at the seat of the Specialist Chambers at the request of the President to exercise functions requiring their presence.
The Call for nominations can be accessed at the EEAS web page and is open until 15 March 2024 at 17:00 hours. The selection procedure will be carried out in accordance with the Law after the expiration of the Call. Please find more details of the selection process here.
