A public redacted version of the trial judgment in English, pronounced on 16 July 2024 against Pjetër Shala, is now available in our Public Court Records and on the case page.

Protected witness W04422 is the new SPO witness, whose testimony began this morning via video-link. The testimony of this witness will take place entirely in closed session.

The Trial Panel in the Januzi, Bahtijari, and Haxhi Shala case has scheduled trial preparation conferences on 7, 8 and 9 October 2024, from 09:30 to 17:30. Additionally, 10 and 11 October are also reserved, with hearings scheduled from 09:30 to 16:00, if necessary. Here is the Panel's decision, which also includes other details like the parties' submissions regarding their investigations, disclosure of evidence, the proposed trial start date of 11 November and witness testimonies.

Please be informed about the latest matter before the Constitutional Court regarding the case of Salih Mustafa. President Trendafilova assigned a Constitutional Court Panel on 23 September 2024 to consider the joint request of the Victims’ Counsel and the SPO for an extension of time to submit their referrals, pursuant to Article 49 of the Law. This request follows the Supreme Court's decision on 29 July and the subsequent new sentence for Mustafa by the Court of Appeals Panel on 10 September. Judges Vidar Stensland, Roumen Nenkov, and Romina Incutti will decide on this request and any other related matters in this case.

After Demush Krasniqi finished testifying this afternoon, the trial in the Thaçi et al. case has adjourned for the day. The hearing set for tomorrow, 24 September, is cancelled, so the trial will resume on Wednesday, 25 September, at 09:00.

Demush Krasniqi is the new SPO witness, whose testimony began this morning. According to the SPO, Krasniqi joined the KLA around May 1998 and later served as a member of the military police in the 122nd Brigade. He is the 89th SPO witness in court so far. Please be informed that, as announced by the Panel this morning, the hearing scheduled for this Thursday (26 September) will conclude at 15:00.

On 19 September 2024, KSC President Trendafilova assigned a Supreme Court Panel to review Haxhi Shala's request for reconsideration of the Supreme Court's previous ruling on 9 September 2024. The earlier decision had denied the accused's request for protection of legality regarding his detention. The same panel, consisting of Judges Ekaterina Trendafilova (Presiding), Christine van den Wyngaert, and Daniel Fransen, will decide on this new request. Here is the assignment decision.

After witness W04366 finished testifying this afternoon, the trial in the Thaçi et al. case has adjourned for the day and the week. The trial will resume on Monday, 23 September, at 09:00.
